Dana Howng
Vice President - Strategy & Development Zeakal
Born in Southern California, Dana Howng has over 20 years of experience building go-to-market (GTM) and business development strategies globally across multiple complex industries. She spent over a decade abroad in East Asia, launching her career in Taiwan and China, before returning to the US. Dana has held several leadership positions in several companies such as an Alibaba portfolio company, Baozun, the leading e-commerce service provider in China with end-to-end e-commerce provider capabilities and where she was an integral part of the investor and partnerships development team before its subsequent IPO on NASDAQ. Dana was also part of the Australian financial institution, Macquarie’s specialized asset management team. At Macquarie, Dana focused on semiconductors and advanced technologies before joining Syzygy Plasmonics, a later-stage clean energy start-up heading partnerships.
Dana is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and holds a Master’s from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, studying Political Economy with an emphasis in international trade and global policy. She is also a published author in Taiwan of 900 Business Chinese Phrases. She is currently based in Houston, Texas.
